Dikh he na bister – Look and Don’t Forget

“Dikh he na bister” – Look and Don’t Forget is an initiative with aim to mobilise young Roma and non-Roma to commemorate and learn more about the Roma Genocide during the WWII, through annual gathering of young Roma in Auschwitz around August 2nd – the Remembrance Day of the Roma Genocide.

The event was organized by TernYpe – International Roma Youth Network and its partners. The initiative aims at raising awareness among young Europeans, civil society and decision-makers about the Roma Genocide, as well as about the mechanisms of antigypsyism in a challenging context of rising racism, hate speech and extremism in Europe. This year several hundreds young Roma from all around Europe participated the 7-days event, consisting of visits to the memorial sites, Auschwitz Museum, meetings with survivors, educational workshops, and of course – with music and meetings between new and old friends from all over Europe.
