worked on identifying challenges in education about the Roma genocide and reflected on how educators and culture of remembrance practitioners can apply the principles and standards of <a href=\"https:\/\/holocaustremembrance.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The result of this two-year process is the new <a href=\"https:\/\/terraforming.org\/en\/ihra-recommendations-for-teaching-and-learning-about-the-genocide-of-the-roma\/\">Guide for the Application of IHRA Recommendations for Teaching and Learning about the Roma Genocide<\/a>, which we are presenting to the broader professional public for the first time. Inclusive remembrance is one in which culture of remembrance practitioners and educators, together with local minority victim communities, actively and equally shape educational and public practices. Guided by the principle of respecting the dignity of victims and relying on verified historical materials and facts, an inclusive culture of remembrance opens space for Roma and Jewish communities to have a relevant and real impact on how their own history and heritage are presented.
