Teaching about and Commemorating the Roma and Sinti Genocide: Practices within the OSCE Area

Published by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, this report served as a first step to bring attention to and share information about existing activities in the area of  teaching about and commemorating the Roma and Sinti genocide undertaken by OSCE participating States. The publication provides an overview of practices reported by the OSCE participating States. It is also meant to serve as a basis for defining future initiatives for ODIHR, OSCE participating States and other relevant stakeholders seeking to promote greater awareness about the plight of Roma and Sinti during the Holocaust.

On page 45. the Terraforming project “The Days of Remembrance” is presented in the frames of activities in Serbia.

The website made by the Council of Europe and OSCE/ODHIR aim to provide instruction on the Roma genocide. It comprises a data base on the Roma genocide, with a virtual library of the best-known and most useful publications, and an interactive map on which countries can indicate their special/distinctive features at national level. The website also provides information on curricula, available teaching materials, school textbooks, places of remembrance, and innovative practices introduced by ministries, civil society, international organisations, museums and schools.
