Antisemitism After the Holocaust

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and International Holocaust Remembrance Day, in cooperation with the Jewish Youth Club Belgrade and the Memorial Committee of the Jewish Community of Belgrade, Terraforming invites you to join us in marking this important date, paying tribute to the victims and talking about the culture of remembrance, facing the contemporary challenges of Holocaust distortion and growing anti-Semitism.

Program

At the beginning of the program, the attendees will be addressed by distinguished guests and ambassadors.

“Thanks to You, I Remember: Memories of the Third Generation”

The exhibition prepared by the Jewish Youth Club will be presented as part of the program. This exhibition provides a space for young Jewish community members to take the narrative of Holocaust remembrance into their own hands and shape collective memory for future generations.

Exhibition: “ABC on Antisemitism”

Visitors will be able to see Terraforming’s exhibition “ABC on Antisemitism”, which is part of the platform on contemporary antisemitism, presented on the website of the Center for Combating Antisemitism and Intolerance CBA, in the form of 25 questions and answers on modern antisemitism in Serbia and internationally.

Short film “Why I remember”

A short film, “Why I Remember,” will be screened. It is composed of statements by some of the leading actors in the field of Holocaust memorialization, which they filmed and sent specifically for this event in Belgrade from Germany, Israel, the Netherlands, Austria, the USA, Canada, Great Britain, South Africa, Croatia, Italy, Australia, and other countries. In short video statements, colleagues from all over the world shared intimate and personal motifs that inspired them to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive.

Panel discussion: “80 Years Later: Antisemitism after the Holocaust”

The panel discussion: “80 Years Later: Antisemitism after the Holocaust” will address key issues related to Holocaust remembrance and contemporary challenges in the fight against antisemitism. The panelists are:

  • Milan Antonijević – lawyer and human rights expert
  • Davor Stipić – historian, expert on the culture of remembrance of the Holocaust
  • Isidora Jurjević – Program Coordinator of the Youth Club of the Jewish Community of Belgrade
  • Borka Marinković – author of the book “The Record of the Holocaust – The Second Generation”
  • Moderator: Miško Stanišić, Director of Terraforming and member of the delegation of the Republic of Serbia to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA).
