Exhibition: “Eighty”
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Raid in southern Bačka, The Historical Archives of the City of Novi Sad prepared the exhibition “Eighty”.
The names and information of eighty victims of this crime were presented to the public in order to point out that behind the impersonal numbers and statistics are real people, our former fellow citizens, neighbors, relatives, and friends, who led ordinary lives, engaged in their daily activities, and formed an integral part of our community. They all left a mark on the face of our city, which we may not even be aware of, but if we look around a little better, and if we do not allow ignorance and oblivion to swallow them, we can recognize, respect, and preserve that mark.
The program of the first day was realized as part of the project ”Holocaust, European Values and local history” organised by Terraforming and The Archives of Vojvodina, within partnership with the Historical Archives of the City of Novi Sad and a number of other domestic and international partners, and with the support International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, Višegrad Fund, Ministry of Education of the Republic of Austria and Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia.
