Public Call for Proposal Submissions for the “Remembering Hilda Dajč 2025” Award
On December 10, in the premises of the Jewish Community of Belgrade, in cooperation with the Memorial Commission and the JOB Youth Club, Terraforming organized an event on the occasion of the announcement of a public call for submission of proposals for the nomination “Remembering Hilda Dajč 2025” on the occasion of marking the memory of December 8, 1941, when Belgrade Jews were sent to the camp at Staro Sajmište. As part of the program, activists of the Youth Club of the Jewish Community of Belgrade presented their project on the culture of remembrance. The attendees were addressed by Miško Stanišić, President of the Board of Directors of the RHD Award and Director of Terraforming, Alexandra Ben Ari, Deputy Ambassador of Israel, Dragana Stojanović, member of the Memorial Commission of the Jewish Community of Belgrade, Davor Salom , newly elected member of the jury for the RHD2025 award, Isidora Jurjević, coordinator of the Youth Club of the Jewish Community of Belgrade, and Filip Belevski, Vice President of the Youth Club of the Jewish Community of Belgrade and member of the Memorial Commission of the Jewish Community of Belgrade. The award ceremony “Remembering Hilda Dajč 2025” will be held on May 10, which will also mark Holocaust Remembrance Day in Belgrade, when the last Jewish victims were killed in the camp at Staro Sajmište in 1942.
The award was established in 2022 at the initiative of the non-governmental organizations Terraforming and Education for 21. Century . Javni konkurs se svake godine objavljuje oko 8. decembra, dana kada su 1941. godine beogradski Jevreji oterani u logor na Starom sajmištu, a priznanje se dodeljuje 10. maja na Dan sećanja na Holokaust u Beogradu, odnosno na dan kada su 1942. godine ubijene poslednje jevrejske žrtve u logoru Staro sajmište.

Workshop for participants of the Facts Not Fiction project
On this occasion, a workshop was held for the participants of the Facts Not Fiction project: archivists, museum workers, teachers, students, and activists in the field of culture of remembrance from the Republic of Serbia who attended various trainings within this international project during the autumn. Within the framework of the project, partners from Serbia, the Netherlands, Germany, and Romania – Terraforming, Arolsen Archive – International Documentation Center of Nazi Persecutions, Intercultural Institute Timisoara, and EuroClio – European Association of History Educators are developing tools and methodologies for empowering educators in the field of history learning, such as teachers, museum curators, archivists, tour guides, podcasters, and graphic novelists, to enable them to work with students, helping young people, to develop their own educational products in various formats, such as graphic novels, exhibitions, podcasts, or guided tours, based on local micro-histories of persecution during World War II. During the workshop in Belgrade, the new platform, “Ester Storyboard,” was presented. Terraforming is developing the platform as part of the project. The “Ester Storyboard” will enable archivists, museum workers, and others to compile “packages” of selected resources and archival materials that students will use to continue working on independent research. At the same time, students and teachers will collect material on the platform, keep a diary of their research, and work on creating graphic novels, podcasts, guided tours, or other creative products to further expand knowledge about local history and the culture of remembrance.
