Connecting Stories is a joint initiative by the Arolsen Archives and Terraforming that equips educators in Germany and Serbia to teach about migration and integration using a digital, multimedia learning module. The project equips teachers with the tools and training necessary to foster critical thinking, digital skills, and civic engagement among students. By connecting historical and contemporary perspectives, it promotes a deeper understanding of European values, such as inclusion and participation.

Through this initiative, teachers gain essential digital skills, pedagogical tools, and historical context to engage students in critical reflection on both past and present migration experiences. By equipping educators, we ultimately empower students to understand and embody shared European values such as diversity, empathy, and participation.

Target Groups

  • Primary: School educators in Germany and Serbia – trained to implement the module and lead student discussions using interactive digital tools.
  • Secondary: Students – the ultimate beneficiaries, who will explore migration through engaging lessons that promote civic awareness and inclusion.

This project addresses gaps in current curricula, promotes digital resilience in education, and supports a more cohesive and inclusive Europe.
