LIBRARIANS AND ARCHIVISTS IN TEACHING AND LEARNING ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST
2017 - 2018Completed
With aim to empower Serbian archivists and librarians to take a more active role as multipliers in teaching and learning about the Holocaust, Terraforming is organizing a series of activities including expert exchanges, study visits, trainings and seminars in Serbia and abroad. A particular goal is to encourage archivists and librarians to develop their own educational content and outreach programs, focusing on local history, documentation and other local sources. The activities are scheduled throughout 2018 and 2019, organized in cooperation with various international partners such as International Tracing Service ITS from Bad Arolsen (Germany), Yad vashem (Israel), House of the Wannsee Conference (Germany), and others, as well as with Serbian experts and organizations. Participants from national, regional and local Serbian libraries and archives are participating the program with huge enthusiasm and commitment as the entire program is self-financed and all costs are being shared by participating institutions. The initiative is a part of Terraforming’s broader program on exploring new ways for, and new actors in teaching and learning about the Holocaust.
