The project Strengthening Educational Ecosystems against Holocaust Distortion and Conflation (SEE-HDC) responds to the rapid spread of Holocaust distortion and conflation with current events. These narratives, often amplified by social media and AI-generated fakes, increasingly reach young people and surface in classrooms. Recent research confirms that teachers frequently feel underprepared to respond to such challenges. Building on the results and impact of previous projects, SEE-HDC expands its focus to include school leaders and municipal officials alongside teachers, recognising teachers as crucial multipliers and school leaders and municipalities as providers of structural support for remembrance education.

The project will equip teachers, school leaders, and municipal officials in Slovakia and
Czechia with capacity-building activities to address these challenges. Through a series of
online workshops and a European Forum, SEE-HDC will embed remembrance in school
structures and ensure results are shared across the EU. Implemented by a consortium of
experienced organisations from Slovakia, Czechia, Germany, Poland, and Serbia, and
supported by the Union of Towns and Cities of Slovakia, the project contributes directly to
the CERV 2025 Holocaust remembrance priority and supports the EU Strategy on
Combating Antisemitism.

As the subtitle indicates —Empowering Teachers, School Leaders, and Local Authorities for
Remembrance in Contemporary Contexts— the proposed actions will empower educators
and institutions together, creating sustainable and resilient frameworks to safeguard
Holocaust remembrance against current and emerging challenges. Impact will be measured
through pre- and post-tests, with results and lessons learned actively disseminated at the
European level as part of the project.
