These Streets Remember is a 24-month initiative funded by the European Union’s CERV Programme, dedicated to making local Holocaust histories visible again through augmented reality. While the Holocaust is a shared European history, it unfolded differently in every city and neighbourhood, and too often, these local stories remain untold where they happened.

These Streets Remember is a 24-month initiative funded by the European Union’s CERV Programme, dedicated to making local Holocaust histories visible again through augmented reality. While the Holocaust is a shared European history, it unfolded differently in every city and neighbourhood, and too often, these local stories remain untold where they happened.

Building on If These Streets Could Talk, the pioneering AR experience developed in Budapest’s historic Jewish Quarter, this project brings together partners from Latvia (Žanis Lipke Memorial), Poland (Galicia Jewish Museum) and Serbia (Terraforming) to adapt and apply a rigorously tested, ethical methodology for immersive Holocaust education in their own communities.

Through two international conferences in Budapest and a series of hands-on workshops in Riga, Novi Sad and Kraków, the partner institutions will develop local AR prototype concepts rooted in their own streets and neighbourhoods, while bringing together around 250 educators, memory professionals, policymakers and community members to shape, inform and support this process.
