For the second year in a row,  in cooperation with the Historical Archive of the city of Novi Sad, the Cultural Center of Novi Sad and with the support of theSerbian delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), Terraforming organizes an international conference for the occasion of the Novi Sad Raid Memorial Day and International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The Voice of Women in the Frozen Silence

This year’s, conference is titled “The Voice of Women in the Frozen Silence” and you can follow it live on our Facebook and You Tube channel.

We decided to dedicate this year’s program to gender perspectives in memorialization, research and education about the Holocaust. A focus on womens’ experiences is still quite a new approach within the remembrance culture in Serbia but also internationally.

Our aim is to raise Holocaust awareness and curiosity among educators, researchers, stakeholders and professionals, as well as among the general public to observe, research and teach about our common past through gender perspectives.

Exhibition: Spots of Light-To Be a Woman in the Holocaust

For the first time in Serbia, we will present the exhibition “Spots of Light-To Be a Woman in the Holocaust”. The exhibition, as well as its pedagogical guide for teachers, was developed by Yad Vashem’s Traveling Exhibitions Department, while Terraforming prepared the Serbian translation. The exhibition is prepared in a special “ready2print format” – an innovative concept where exhibitions are provided as high-resolution digital files, along with printing and installation instructions, available for download and print. This way, schools, libraries, archives, museums and other institutions in the Republic of Serbia will be able to download the exhibition free of charge, print and exhibit it in their communities. Publication: Recommendations for Teaching and Learning About the Holocaust

In November 2020, in cooperation with UNESCO, the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) introduced Recommendations for Teaching and Learning about the Holocaust. A group of international experts, including experts from Serbia, worked together over the course of some years to develop this very important publication. During this year’s Novi Sad Raid Memorial Day and International Holocaust Remembrance Day we will present the Serbian language version of this text to Serbian and international audiences. The Serbian language translation was initiated and completed by Terraforming.
