U okviru međunarodnog projekta „Facts not Fiction“, Terraforming i partneri Arolsen Archives iz Nemačke, EuroClio – European Association of History Educators iz Holandije, i Interkulturalni institut iz Temišvara iz Rumunije, organizuju trening za kreatore grafičkih novela: ilustratore, scenariste, pisce, i druge kreatore zainteresovane za ovu temu.
Dvodnevni trening na engleskom jeziku će se održati 22-23. januara 2024. Drugog dana uveče, učesnici koji to žele mogu učestvovati u javnom programu povodom obeležavanja Dana sećanja na Novosadsku raciju.
Na treningu će učestvovati kreatori iz Nemačke, Holandije, Finske, Rumunije i Srbije. Program je besplatan.

Pozivamo vas da se prijavite na konkurs

Potrebno je da pošaljete CV i motivaciono pismo na engleskom jeziku.
Rok za prijave do 31. decembra!
Obavezno je dobro znanje engleskog jezika.
Svi koji su zainteresovani za ovu tematiku podstiču se da podnesu prijavu, bez obzira na to koliko predznanja ili iskustva imaju.

Graphic Novelists Expert Training

We are happy to announce the call for the Graphic Novelists Expert Training Workshop in Novi Sad, Serbia. The training will take place from January 22 until January 23, 2025, with January 21 as the day of early arrivals. We will share the program with the selected participants in more detail. On the evening of January 23, the participants can choose to participate in the public event dedicated to the commemoration of the Novi Sad Raid, a mass crime committed by Hungarian Fascists against predominantly Jewish and Serbian civilians in Novi Sad in 1941.

About the Project

In partnership with TerraformingIntercultural Institute Timișoara, and the Arolsen ArchivesEuroClio – European Association of History Educators is leading the project,  Facts Not Fiction – Young Historians Show How to Learn from the Past. 

This project is addressed to history educators and other professionals and institutions in the field of memorialization. The aim is to train students and youth groups to research local histories of persecution during the Nazi era and develop their own end products based on these findings. Among the students’ creations are a graphic novel, a podcast, a heritage tour and an exhibition. Related to this, we are organizing several training workshops with experts on these topics.

Who are we looking for?

For this particular event, we are looking for graphic novelists, illustrators, scriptwriters, and other creators interested in depicting the stories from the Second World War following contemporary pedagogical guidelines. Those interested in the history of totalitarianism, the Holocaust memorial, and mid-20th century histories of migration and persecution should definitely apply. However, those with little background in the Second World War as well as those with experience in other related areas are also encouraged to submit an application.

Who can apply?

Based on project partners, this opportunity is intended for individuals residing in Germany, Serbia, the Netherlands, Romania, and Finland.

The main objectives of the Graphic Novelists Expert Training are:

  • Build the capacity of professional graphic novelists that produce public history in the field of Holocaust history and education
  • Foster peer-learning among professional graphic novelists
  • Develop educational animations for young people to show how graphic novels can be used as a tool to introduce public history

What is covered?

EuroClio will cover all expenses related to your travel to/from Novi Sad, including accommodation and subsistence costs. The day of arrival will be January 21, and the workshop will end on January 23 in the afternoon. Therefore, two nights of accommodation will be covered. For those who choose to participate in the public event on the evening of January 23, we will cover the third night, and they will travel home on January 24.
